Resonate Arts offers a range of arts projects and creative opportunities for people living with dementia. Working alongside Resonates Project Manager, I planned and delivered a series of art sessions centred on the theme of "awe." The project was inspired by the sense of wonder and excitement that children experience so naturally, as so much of the world is new to them. Encountering something for the first time can feel magical, yet these moments of discovery often become less frequent as we grow older.
The aim of the sessions was to create opportunities for participants to experience moments of curiosity, surprise, and delight—those spontaneous "Wow, what's that?" or "Ooh, that's interesting!" reactions. Whether through discovering the striking effects of cyanotype printing or experimenting with technology such as thermal cameras, each activity was designed to encourage exploration, spark conversation, and inspire a renewed sense of wonder.
