As part of Community Focus's Arts at Home programme, I developed and delivered online creative courses during term time for young people with disabilities. Participants received an art kit delivered to their home, containing all the materials and tools needed to take part in each 12-week course.
Each online session combined practical art-making with opportunities to socialise, encouraging participants to share their work, discuss ideas and take part in creative group games. Alongside developing artistic skills, the programme fostered confidence, connection and a sense of community in an accessible online environment.
Past projects have explored themes including wellbeing, puppetry and paper arts. In 2021, I designed and delivered a 12-week course inspired by the Victoria and Albert Museum's exhibition Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser. Partially funded by the museum, the project invited participants to create their own imaginative "Wonderlands", using drawing, sculpture, collage and storytelling to build joyful, nonsensical fantasy worlds filled with curious characters and unexpected adventures.
Above all, the aim of every session was simple: to create a welcoming space where participants could enjoy making art, express themselves creatively and have fun together.
